National cricket star Naseem Shah’s residence in Mayar, Lower Dir, came under attack by unidentified gunmen on Sunday.
According to authorities, the assailants targeted the main gate, windows, and a parked vehicle. Police arrived at the scene promptly, but the suspects initially fled. Later, five individuals were arrested in connection with the incident.
A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Naseem Shah has been recalled to Pakistan’s T20I squad for the upcoming home series against South Africa and the tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
The three-match T20I series against South Africa is scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from October 28 to November 1, followed by the tri-series at the same venues from November 17 to 29.
Naseem Shah last featured in T20Is in late 2024 and was not part of the recent Asia Cup. His recall signals a potential chance of selection for next year’s T20 World Cup, just four months away.
