KARACHI: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched the ‘Ijazat Aap Ki’ service to safeguard citizens’ data.
As per details, Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik said that now the citizens will have the authority to provide personal data or not.
The CNIC verification will also be done with the citizen’s permission, and the sensitive information will be safe with NADRA.
In the same way that citizens now own physical property, they also own personal and familial information.
National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) had already made the decision to provide free national identity cards (NIC) to residents of flood-affected districts.
The project was initiated in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program, according to the head of NADRA (UNDP).

Nine districts in Sindh and Balochistan that have been devastated by flooding will offer free NICs to women, individuals with disabilities, and those from low-income backgrounds.
