KARACHI: Sindh province likely to face flour shortage as government and flour mills association have been engaged in a row after the millers unilaterally increased per KG flour price from 105 rupees to 130.
The government of Sindh has decided to take action against flour mills that have raised the price of flour from the 105 rupees per kilogram that was set by the government to 130 rupees per kilogram.
Notwithstanding the fact that the official price for chakki flour is set at Rs105 per kg and the rate charged by flour mills at Rs98, flour prices consistently range around Rs130 per kilo.
The government has decided to launch crackdown against those flour mills, which are not selling the flour on the price fixed by the government.
