A young Karachi businessman was found dead in Karachi days after he was reportedly abducted, according to police.
Police said the body of Mir Raza Ali, owner of the popular waffle dessert chain WAFFLIX, was recovered from bushes near Shahi Qila Ground, close to a wedding hall in Gulistan-e-Johar Block 1. The body was later shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.
The victim was a resident of PECHS Block 2 and owned the WAFFLIX outlet near Bahadurabad Chowrangi.
Authorities said the body appeared to have been at the location for one to two days and showed burn injuries in several areas, making identification difficult. His father identified him through his clothing, while police also noted a distinguishing mark on his back.

Investigators said a kidnapping case had already been registered following Ali’s disappearance. According to preliminary findings, investigators suspect those responsible may have attempted to conceal the victim’s identity by using acid on the body before abandoning it.
Police cautioned that the exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report is completed.
Police have launched an investigation to identify those involved and establish the motive behind the killing.
