Meesha Shafi refutes remarks on resolving issue with Ali Zafar ‘privately’

Singer Meesha Shafi has termed the circulating news of reconciliation with Ali Zafar as baseless.

There is news that today at the  Sessions Court during the defamation case hearing filed against her by Ali Zafar, Meesha Shafi said the matter was not being resolved privately. 

However, Shafi has turned down the claims, Shafi said that that if she had to make peace, she would not have come from abroad for interrogation.

Meesha Shafi appeared in the Lahore Sessions Court in a defamation suit. The lawyers of singer Ali Zafar cross-examined her statement for five hours. In court, Meesha Shafi said that Ali Zafar benefited from his statement on social media,

Ali Zafar got so many awards and benefits that it does not seem that Zafar suffered any financial or reputation loss, she added. While talking to media outside the court, Meesha Shafi termed the news of reconciliation with Ali Zafar as baseless and said that she was fighting for the rights of women in this case.

However, she admitted that she tweeted one day before the recording of the first show of a concert on April 19, 2018. She said her intention was to help herself as nobody was helping her. However, Shafi said she had every plan to go to work as per her professional commitment.
