LAHORE: Pakistani Actress Meera today (Tuesday) called on the government to protect her family after being attacked by armed goons.
Talking to journalists, Actress Meera, while crying, claimed that the attackers physically assaulted her brother and mother over property clash. She appealed for help, stating that she and her family are ready to be hanged publicly if their claims are proven to be false.

“The attackers are fraudulent, they want to kill my mother,” she said, adding that she has submitted an application to get security and support from the government in this case. Meera said she has requested Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid to put the name of accused, Shahid Mahmood, on the Exit Control List.
Earlier, it was reported that an overseas Pakistani has accused Shafqat Zehra, mother of popular film actress Meera, of committing fraud with him. Mian Shahid alleged that he had purchased a commercial property from Shafqat Wezra situated at MM Alam Road, Lahore for Rs100 million.
“When I demanded the registry after taking possession of the property and payment of Rs90 million, she, accompanied by goons, visited his place and started threatening him,” he added. Mian Shahid has said he has all the relevant documents with him.
