KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has permitted Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) member Rauf Siddiqui to travel abroad as they are facing a number of cases.
Both Wasim Akhtar and Rauf Siddiqui are out on bail in cases, moved their separate applications seeking the court’s permission to travel abroad.
Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar earlier stated that he wanted to travel to the UAE to meet his family members residing in Dubai.
The court, granting his request, allowed him to fly out of the country for two days. Meanwhile, the Anti-terrorism court also allowed Rauf Siddiqui to fly to Saudi Arabia for fourteen days.
In his plea, MQM’s Rauf Siddiqui stated that he intended to go to Saudi Arabia for the renewal of his Iqama work permit.
