Lahore: In a significant development, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the initiation of Punjab’s inaugural government cancer hospital near Valencia Town in Lahore.
During her visit to the proposed site of the hospital on Sunday, Maryam Nawaz actively engaged with the project, receiving a detailed briefing on its layout and plans. Emphasizing the importance of the facility, she extended an invitation to top-tier specialist doctors worldwide to contribute to the cancer hospital. In addition, she directed the construction of a dedicated hotel to accommodate attendees of the patients.
Expressing her commitment to accessible healthcare, Maryam Nawaz highlighted that the government cancer hospital would provide free treatment to cancer patients, marking a groundbreaking initiative for Punjab. She pledged to bring in the best doctors and state-of-the-art machinery to ensure the highest standards of care.
The announcement was made in the presence of prominent figures, including former Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Member of Assembly Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Sania Ashiq, and Dr. Adnan, who joined Maryam Nawaz during the site inspection.
The event saw the participation of key officials such as the Chief Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR), Secretary Communication and Works Department (C&W), Secretary of Cooperative, Commissioner Lahore, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore, and other relevant officials, underscoring the government’s dedication to this healthcare initiative.
