Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved 62 billion rupees for the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program.
According to a report by Geo News on Sunday, Maryam Nawaz stated that she wants every homeless person to have a roof over their head, as owning a home is a fundamental right for every citizen.
She has also instructed to review the proposal to increase the loan amount for the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program from 1.5 million to 2 million rupees.
During a briefing at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, it was informed that 5,000 citizens across Punjab have already availed loans under this program. Over 4,200 houses under the program are rapidly nearing completion.
Earlier in August 2024, during the inauguration ceremony in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz expressed her excitement about the new scheme, emphasizing the importance of homeownership. “Having your own home is a significant blessing,” she said. “Those without one understand the depth of the desire for it. We hope this scheme will help address this critical need.”
Maryam Nawaz highlighted that there would be no hidden charges or interest, as the Punjab government will cover all service charges. The loan application process is streamlined and can be completed online. For those seeking more information or assistance, a dedicated contact number, 080009100, is available.
