Loki’s transformation in season 2 has solidified his new title as ‘God Loki’ and this has been green signalled by Marvel confirming his new title in the MCU.
By choosing to remain in solitude at the End of Time, Loki faces his biggest fear of being alone and takes on the responsibility of holding the multiverse together in the Loki season 2 finale.
This change was solidified in Loki season 2’s ending when the character gave in to his biggest fear of being alone by remaining in solitude at the End of Time to hold the expanding branches of the multiverse together. While many thought this was Loki’s way of adapting Marvel Comics’ Loki: God of Stories arc, Marvel has officially confirmed his new title (via The Direct).
Despite many wondering if Loki’s new MCU title would be God of Stories, God Loki makes a lot of sense for his character. The reason for this is how simple the title is, meaning it needs little more explanation.
Loki holding the multiverse together essentially makes him the god of everything in the Marvel multiverse as opposed to just the stories within the MCU’s new Yggdrasil tree. With that said, God Loki puts a neat line under what exactly the character has become in the MCU without the added caveat of making him the god of something in particular.
