Petroleum prices in Pakistan are expected to rise at the start of the New Year, with diesel prices likely increasing by over Rs4 per liter, while petrol price may remained unchanged for the next fortnight.
According to media reports citing sources within the Petroleum Division, petrol prices are expected to remain stable, while kerosene prices could rise by Rs1 per liter.
The final decision on these changes will be made on December 31, after consultations between the finance minister and the prime minister.
On December 15, the government maintained the petrol price at Rs252.10 per liter. However, high-speed diesel saw a decrease of Rs3.05 per liter, lowering the price to Rs255.38 per liter.
Furthermore, the price of kerosene oil was reduced by Rs3.32 per liter, bringing it to Rs161.66 per liter, while light diesel oil dropped by Rs2.78 per liter, now priced at Rs148.95 per liter.
