KARACHI: Gas load-shedding is going on due to the absence of gas before the arrival of Ramadan across the country, while the price of LPG has also increased.
According to the details, just two days before Ramadan, the price of LPG increased sharply Chairman of LPG Industries Association Irfan Khokhar says that the increase in prices is due to the nexus of LPG quota holders and importers.
In his recent statement, Chairman LPG Industries Association Irfan Khokhar said that the increase in LPG price by Rs 30 per kg for the second time in one week without notification by Ogra is unjustified while the official price is Rs 257 per kg.
Chairman LPG Industries Association said that LPG has been sold at Rs 310 per kg across the country, while in hilly areas it has started selling at Rs 360 per kg. After the price hike, the domestic cylinder is being sold at Rs 3700 instead of Rs 3030.
Irfan Khokhar said that Ogra, LPG distributors, and shopkeepers are helpless in front of the gas mafia while 2 big ships have reached Pakistan with LPG. Abundant LPG is available on the Pak-Iran border. An artificial shortage of LPG has been created across the country.
He said that action should be taken against black marketing companies before Ramadan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif take immediate notice of rising LPG prices. Supply of LPG at the official price should be ensured during Ramadan.
