Lahore High Court on Monday declared fuel charges adjustment (FCA) in electricity bills as illegal while directing the government to subsidize up to 500 units for domestic consumers.
Justice Ali Baqar Najafi pronounced the reserved verdict on the petitions of Azhar Siddique and others challenging inclusion of fuel adjustment charges in the power bills.
The court ordered subsidy up to 500 units to domestic consumers.
The court directed the federal government to use alternative sources to produce cheap electricity.
