The Telugu film industry is in mourning after veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao died at 83, due to a prolonged illness at his residence in Hyderabad, India.
The actor, who celebrated his 83rd birthday recently, died in the early hours of Sunday, July 13.
Rao, born in Andhra Pradesh, began his acting career in 1978 with the Telugu-language film Pranam Khareedhu. He went on to act in several other Indian language films, including Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi.
The actor was also a theatre artist before he began his career in films. He also worked in over 750 films in his career, and played the role of the antagonist the most. Some of his biggest films include Shiva, Aha Naa Pellanta, and more. His last appearance in a film was in Kabzaa (2023).
Rao was also a recipient of several awards, including the prestigious Padma Shri in 2015 for his contribution to Indian cinema.
