ISLAMABAD: The fourth and last lunar eclipse of the year 2020 will take place today (Monday 30th November).
It will also be seen in Asian countries, including South, North America, and Australia. According to experts, Pakistan and India will not be able to see the lunar eclipse. Dr. Javed Iqbal, of the Institute of Space and Planetary Astrophysics (ISPA), University of Karachi, the eclipse will take place at 12:32 pm according to Pakistan Standard Time.
This lunar eclipse is a ‘penumbral’ eclipse. That is, the outer part of the earth’s central shadow falling on the moon will dim the moon’s brightness. The last lunar eclipse will be seen first in Lima and Peru. Astronomer Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal said that the lunar moon will rise at 2:32 p.m. and end at 4:53 p.m.

The total duration of the eclipse will be 4 hours 21 minutes. The lunar eclipse will end at 4:53 p.m. Earlier this year, there were lunar eclipses on 10th January, 5th June, and 4th July. The first lunar eclipse of 2012 will be observed on 26th May.
