The WhatsApp account of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Karachi has been hacked, the university administration has confirmed.
Vice-Chancellor Khalid Mahmood Iraqi warned that messages may be circulated from his account requesting money or other favours. He urged recipients not to respond to any such messages.
The university administration has issued a formal notice advising staff and the public to disregard any communication received from the compromised account until further clarification.
