KARACHI: The Station House Officer (SHO) Paposhnagar has been issued a show-cause notice after the policeman released a suspect under arrest.
A First Inquiry Report (FIR) has been also been lodged against the head moharar and caretaker of the police station for allgedly releasing the suspect.
Last night, a robbery took place at Khalifat Chowk in Paposhnagar where the criminals looted valuables and a mobile phone. However, the criminals were surrounded by locals when they attempted to rob an ice depot and were handed over to the police after the robbery was foiled.
Resident Waqar Shah told MM News that he risked his life to arrest the suspect but still they were called to the police station and told to wait for several hours. The FIR was registered at 4 AM after huge efforts, however shockingly, SHO Rao Dilshad asked him for a picture of the suspect and informed him at 12 PM that that suspect had fled.
The report reached the higher officials of the police force. SSP Central Arif Aslam Rao has said that action will be taken against the policemen and an FIR will be lodged against them. He said the policeman will be held accountable and no negligence will be tolerated.
