The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan has announced the temporary closure of certain air routes in the Karachi and Lahore regions at designated times throughout March, citing safety and security concerns.
According to a notice issued by the authority, the affected air routes will remain closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily between March 3 and March 31.
During these hours, commercial flights will not have access to the restricted routes, and airlines are being advised to adjust schedules and flight paths accordingly.
This decision comes amid ongoing instability in the Middle East, where escalating military tensions have disrupted air travel and oil supply lines through key maritime corridors such as the Strait of Hormuz.
Several airlines had earlier suspended flights to the region due to security risks, prompting Pakistan to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of domestic and international air traffic.
Authorities have urged passengers and airlines to monitor official updates and follow revised flight instructions to avoid disruptions.
