The late Junaid Jamshed’s son, Saifullah Junaid, revealed that his father had started praying for martyrdom a few months before the plane crash.
During a recent appearance on Geo Podcast, Saifullah Junaid emotionally shared memories of his father and spoke about his final days.
He stated that he was only 14 years old when his father passed away. He remembered that around six to eight months before the martyrdom, his father began telling his mother not to be upset, as he was praying to Allah for martyrdom. His father’s martyrdom was, in fact, the result of his own prayer, as he had been continuously beseeching Allah for martyrdom for nearly seven to eight months — and it seemed that Allah accepted his prayer.
Saifullah stated that the news of his father’s death came suddenly, as he was not suffering from any illness, so the image of his smiling and cheerful face remains etched in his memory.
He added that when people began arriving at their home after his father’s martyrdom, he and the family were still unable to comprehend what had really happened.
Recalling a childhood memory, Saifullah shared that his mother often told him about an incident when his father, during his music career, once showed him an old photo and asked, “Who is this?” After thinking for a while, he replied, “Uncle.” His father smiled and said, “Alhamdulillah,” being happy that his son did not recognize him from that phase.
It is worth remembering that in December 2016, a PIA flight from Chitral to Islamabad crashed, killing Junaid Jamshed, his second wife Neha Jamshed, and 48 other passengers.
