Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh organised the Palestine Conference at the Quba Auditorium. Various political, social, and religious leaders, as well as nationalist leaders, including, PPP leader Nisar Khuhro, IPP Sindh President Mahmood Moulvi, Safdar Abbas, Yousuf Kasuri, Tariq Hassan and others participated in the conference and strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Palestine while expressing support for Hamas.
The conference emphasized that the only solution to the issue is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and urged the global community to immediately halt the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and to boycott Israel in terms of diplomatic and trade relations.
Liaquat Baloch, the central deputy leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, delivered a presidential address, expressing that every child in Palestine believes that the land of the Prophets belongs to Muslims, and they consider the liberation of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as their life’s purpose. He stated that Israel, through its unjust occupation, has disrupted global peace. The conference expressed full support for Hamas, and it is through their resistance that they will achieve their freedom.
The decision to veto the U.S.-backed resolution in the United Nations Security Council is seen as a source of embarrassment for the countries that took this action. The conference called upon all Muslim countries to show national unity by boycotting Israel politically, socially, and economically.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Sindh’s central president, Maulana Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, stated that Hamas’ complete support will make Palestine, like Afghanistan, a graveyard for Israel and the United States. Pakistan’s government, along with the entire nation, should stand with Hamas in their struggle. Former MNA and IPP leader Mahmood Moulvi also condemned the Israeli aggression and demanded of the world to take steps to stop genocide of Palestinians.
The conference demanded that Saudi Arabia, especially, should play a role in ending the current situation in Palestine. It emphasized the need for not only condemning the issue but taking practical actions.
In the closing remarks, the deputy general secretary, Deputy General Secretary Abdul Hafiz Bajrani, fulfilled the duties of the stage secretary. The final prayer was led by Abdul Wahid Qureshi. A joint declaration was issued at the end of the conference.
