Nurse’s negligence causes death of teenage girl

SAHIWAL: The negligence of a nurse claimed the life of a 12-year-old girl at District Headquarters Teaching Hospital on late Monday.
According to details, 12-year-old Tayyaba was brought to the childrens ward in Sahiwal’s Hospital with stomach problems and a fever where a duty nurse named Kainat applied an antibiotic injection in her muscle instead of a vein. As a result, the teenage girl died.
While talking to media, the Medical Superintendent of District Headquarters Teaching Hospital Dr. Bisharat said that action would be taken against the nurse in accordance with the rules.
The main reason for the unending series of sorrowful incidents is the lack of training and negligence of physicians and paramedics, in addition to the inadequacy of strict monitoring of staff members at the country’s hospitals.
