Following Indian aggression and rising tensions with Pakistan, Indian authorities have suspended 200 domestic flights from 20 airports across northern and western India until May 10, citing fears of potential Pakistani retaliation.
According to Indian officials, no flights will take off from these airports until 5:29 AM on May 10.
Airports affected include Srinagar, Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Jodhpur, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot.
Air India has confirmed that it has redirected two international flights originally bound for Amritsar to New Delhi instead.
The suspension has disrupted operations across several regions, with passengers being advised to stay updated through their respective airlines.
Indian carriers have reported extended flight durations from northern and western cities to Mumbai. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has also adjusted its flight times from Amsterdam to Delhi and Mumbai, adding 60 to 75 minutes to the schedule, although flights will continue without unscheduled stopovers.
Aviation experts warn that the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan may lead to further disruptions in air travel, including additional delays or cancellations. Passengers are strongly urged to monitor airline advisories and travel updates closely.
