The nation today (Wednesday) observed ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ (Kashmir Siege Day) to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people on completion of one year of the military siege of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K).
One minute silence was observed at 10:00 am across the country. Traffic also came to a halt for one minute. Television channels and radio stations played national anthems of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
Prime Minister Imran Khan along with President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir participated in a symbolic walk to commemorate ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ at Muzaffarabad.

President Arif Alvi and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also participated in a walk to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir and against the Indian government at Islamabad.
Governor Punjab Muhammad Sarwar, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and other prominent leaders of Punjab expressed solidarity with Kashmiris.
