MALAKAND: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has once again criticized PTI-led federal government, saying that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s team is “incompetent and corrupt”.
He made the comments today (Monday) while addressing a Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) — an 11-patry opposition alliance aiming to send Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government packing — gathering in Malakand.
PPP Chairman, JUI-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other leaders reached Batkhela Tehsil of Malakand in separate convoys. However, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has decided against participating in today’s rally.
Addressing the gathering, Bilawal Bhutto said that the people of Malakand chased away terrorists from our soil. “We remember who stood by you and who sided with the terrorists. You stood with the Pakistan Army and defeated the terrorists,” he added.
The PPP Chairman said that the people of Malakand have given their decision against this ‘selected government’. “Consider today’s rally a referendum,” he added.
He said that the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) have been suffering at the hands of these incompetent rulers. “These people are hypocrites and liars. Whatever they promised they haven’t deliver,” he said.
Bilawal also slammed the incumbent premier for calling the protesting families of the Machh massacre victims ‘blackmailers’. “What kind of justice is this? Instead of going to the victims, the prime minister called them ‘blackmailers’,” he added.
“Imran Khan has proved that blood is cheaper in Naya Pakistan than life,” he remarked, adding that each citizen of Malakand has only one demand and that is for the ‘selected’ to go.
Speaking of the country’s problems, the PPP chief said Pakistan’s inflation was the highest in the entire region. “We’re fighting historical poverty and inflation. This is the Naya Pakistan,” he said.
“All promises he and his party had made to the people were fulfilled,” he said. The PPP boss vowed to collectively work to similarly end the regime of “selected puppet” premier — Imran Khan.
