ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) and the Banking Court granted bail to Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan in cases related to violence before ECP Office and prohibited funding. A session court on the other hand issued non- bailable warrants of the PTI Chief.

This came when Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal yesterday rejected the PTI chief Imran Khan’s plea to transfer the hearing of attempted murder and Toshakhana cases to the Judicial Complex.
Session Judge Zafar Iqbal rejected Khan’s exemption plea and issued non bailable arrest warrants of Imran Khan for failing to appear despite being summoned, and adjourned the hearing until March 7.
Earlier, the ATC Islamabad granted bail to Imran Khan for Rs. 100,000 surety bonds.
It may be added here that the PTI chief is required to appear in person in four different cases in Islamabad courts today. The Toshakhana and attempted murder cases are in the same court at the judicial complex, while the foreign funding case is in a banking court and the terrorism case in an anti-terrorism court.
Islamabad police had booked the PTI chief and scores of party workers on terrorism charges in October last year in the wake of protests after his disqualification in the Toshakhana reference.
The first information report registered against the party members claimed the protestors had pelted stones at the police and FC officials, leading to many injuries.
It further stated that workers of the former ruling party tried ramming police personnel with vehicles, set public property ablaze in Faizabad, and also damaged government property.

The banking court resumed hearing the prohibited funding case against him after rescheduling all other cases fixed for hearing on Tuesday. The PTI chairman sought bail in the case filed against him and other party leaders by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Commercial banking Circle in Islamabad under the Foreign Exchange Act after they were accused of being the beneficiaries of suspicious bank accounts.
Judge Rakhshanda Shaheen had reserved the verdict which was announced some 20 minutes later, confirming the bail of Imran Khan.
