Hematologist Dr Tahir Shamsi passes away in Karachi

KARACHI: Hematologist Dr. Tahir S. Shamsi has died after being treated at a private hospital in the Sindh capital.

According to details, Dr. Tahir Shamsi was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit till yesterday but the management of the private hospital confirmed the death of the hematologist.

Yesterday, the family of Dr. Tahir Shamsi had appealed to the people to pray for the speedy recovery of the hematologist. Dr. Tahir Shamsi had suffered a brain hemorrhage.

The management of the private hospital said that Dr. Tahir Shamsi underwent surgery after a brain hemorrhage, however, he could not recover. He was admitted to the intensive care unit last Thursday.

Earlier, the father of PTI National Assembly member Alamgir Khan was killed in an explosion near Paracha Chowk in Shershah.

The blast severely damaged nearby buildings and vehicles, after which security forces cordoned off the area, and rescue operations were launched.
