Pakistan reports 270 new cases of coronavirus, 4 deaths

ISLAMABAD: At least 270 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country while 4 more people have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours.

According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,291,737 people were infected with coronavirus across the country, while 28,882 people lost their lives to the virus.

During the last 24 hours, 42,506 tests were performed to diagnose coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 229,072,243. Across the country, the coronavirus test resulted in a positive rate of 0.63 percent while the condition of 643 patients is critical. 

Health and provincial situation till last day

During the last 24 hours, coronavirus was defeated by 354 people across the country, bringing the total number of healthy people to 1.253 million. Mortality remains at 2.2 percent. 

The highest number of coronavirus cases were reported in Sindh while deaths were reported in Punjab. In Punjab, 444,216 people fell victim to the virus while 13,059 died. In Sindh, 479,326 cases of coronavirus and 7,652 deaths were reported.

In different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 181,011 people fell victim to coronavirus while 5,909 died.

In Balochistan, 33,558 cases of the virus were reported and 363 people lost their lives. In Azad Kashmir, 34,642 people were infected with coronavirus and 745 died. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 10,429 cases and 186 deaths were reported.
