Police have arrested a man and his father in Gujranwala after an Australian transgender citizen alleged that they confined the complainant, prepared a fake marriage certificate and transferred more than Rs40 million from their funds.
The case was registered at Ladhewala Warraich police station following the Australian citizen’s complaint.
The main suspect, identified as Usman, allegedly contacted the complainant through TikTok, after which the Australian citizen travelled to Pakistan twice.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the suspects allegedly kept the complainant confined inside a house and prevented them from leaving.
The complaint further alleged that Usman and his family prepared a fake Nikahnama to support the purported marriage.
The Australian citizen said the suspects allegedly transferred over Rs40m into their accounts and later demanded additional money and visas in exchange for allowing the complainant to leave Pakistan.
The complainant allegedly managed to escape on June 1 and reached Lahore before approaching police.
