As Pakistan is facing dollar crunch, the government has offered to give substantial discount on expenses if you submit fees and other charges for upcoming Hajj 2023 season in US dollars.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Hajj 2023 Strategy, Pakistani Hajj pilgrims would have the choice of selecting the currency in which they pay fees for the yearly holy pilgrimage.
According to the rules, people who deposit their fees in US dollars will be eligible for a special discount on fees and other required charges.
The ministry, according to a report in Samaa tv, has decided to recommend the federal government allocate 25% quota Pakistani hajj pilgrims to such pilgrims who pay in US dollars instead of Pakistani rupees.
It is important to note that the Saudi Riyal is the only valid form of legal cash in Saudi Arabia. The price of a single Saudi riyal was Rs69.90 as of Friday’s currency rates. It has been suggested that those who pay their Hajj fee in Pakistani Rupee be listed in the poll.
Further, 50% quota has been allocated for those pilgrims applying via private Hajj schemes.
