NEW YORK: Gold prices declined in the global market on Tuesday as a stronger US dollar and rising US Treasury yields put pressure on the precious metal. However, the decline was limited by reduced expectations of a US Federal Reserve interest rate hike this month.
Spot gold fell 0.3% to $4,128.69 per ounce, while US gold futures were little changed at $4,156 per ounce.
Other precious metals also traded lower. Spot silver declined 0.6% to $60.67 per ounce.
