Gold prices rise again by Rs2400 per tola after brief dip

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan climbed on Saturday, reversing the previous day’s decline and mirroring gains in the international market.

According to the All Pakistan Bullion Association, the price of 24‑karat gold per tola rose by Rs2,400, while the 10‑gram rate increased by Rs2,057. Silver also edged higher, with the per tola price gaining Rs41. On the global front, gold advanced by $24 per ounce, underscoring renewed investor interest after a short‑lived correction.

Market observers noted that the rebound reflects the interplay of international bullion trends and local currency movements. Analysts say the uptick is driven by safe‑haven demand amid persistent geopolitical uncertainty and inflationary pressures.

For Pakistani consumers, the latest rise means household buyers face renewed affordability challenges, particularly during the ongoing wedding season. Traders caution that volatility remains high, with prices likely to fluctuate in line with global cues.

This increase comes just a day after gold had dropped sharply, with rates falling by Rs3,600 per tola on July 17. That decline was tied to international weakness, where gold slipped below the $4,000 mark. The swift reversal highlights the fragile state of bullion markets, where sentiment shifts rapidly in response to global developments.
