KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan on Tuesday witnessed an uptick in line with an increase in the international rate. The yellow metal was priced at Rs227,300 per tola after a gain of Rs400 during the day.
The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) published statistics that show that the 10-gram gold was sold for Rs194,873, up Rs343.
Pakistan’s gold prices dropped by Rs. 600 per tola on Monday.
Following a $3 increase in the foreign market, the international rate of gold was established at $2,173 per ounce on Tuesday with a $20 premium, according to APGJSA.
Silver prices, meanwhile, stayed steady at Rs 2,580 per tola.
Meanwhile on Tuesday’s interbank market saw a 0.01% decline in the rupee’s value relative to the US dollar, but overall stability held.
As of closing, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reports that the local unit was down Re0.01 against the US dollar, trading at 278.64.
