The “going pantless” or “commando” trend seems to be the new favorite among Hollywood celebrities, with Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kim Kardashian embracing it for comfort, empowerment, and seamless silhouettes.
High-slit dresses, sheer fabrics, and cutout styles, like those from Marcia, are increasingly designed to be worn without underwear, making the “going commando” trend a bold fashion statement.

Celebrities have played a major role in popularizing it, with stars like Lady Gaga, Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner frequently embracing the style at high-profile events.

Gwyneth Paltrow shared behind-the-scenes snaps from the Oscars wearing a white strapless Giorgio Armani Privé gown with a sheer side slit, revealing she was wearing no underwear.

Rita Ora, Zara McDermott, and Jennifer Lopez have also showcased curves through sheer panels and daring side splits, while Lady Gaga has admitted she often skips underwear even when not required. Kate Beckinsale continues to flaunt the look confidently at 52.

Fashion presenter Naomi Isted says that it’s not merely about shock value, going commando can be a tasteful way to show skin.
Gynecologists also point out that skipping underwear in tight outfits can improve breathability, adding a practical benefit to the trend.
