Rawalpindi police have arrested an alleged gang involved in producing and sharing obscene content through live streaming on pornographic websites during a major operation in the Rawat area, officials said on Thursday.
According to police, 11 individuals, including both local and foreign nationals, were detained during the raid.
The suspects include two foreign nationals and two Pakistani men, along with seven women, one of whom is a foreign woman.
Police also recovered a pistol, bullets, mobile phones used for live streaming, laptops, and other equipment from their possession.
Authorities said the arrested individuals were involved in uploading explicit content on various websites. An FIR has been registered, and all suspects have been taken into custody, with officials expecting further revelations during the investigation.
Police added that efforts are underway to arrest other members and facilitators of the gang, and the scope of the investigation is being expanded in coordination with the NCCIA.
Officials further said that those involved in the exploitation or abuse of women and children will not escape the law, and strict action will be taken against all offenders without discrimination.
