BIARRITZ: US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will discuss the issue of occupied Kashmir on the sidelines of the Group of Seven (G-7) summit.
The meeting will be held in the wake of two recent statements by Trump to mediate talks between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.
Confirming the development, Trump said that he would do his best to mediate talks between India and Pakistan.
The US President said, “I am going to be with prime minister Modi over the weekend in France and I will do the best I can to meditate or do something.”
This is not the first time that Trump has proposed to act as a mediator between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir issue.
Since 5th August, occupied Kashmir has been under curfew after the Indian government abolished Article 370, which granted special status to the occupied valley.
