KARACHI: The Sindh government has extended the ban on the public display of weapons across the province for another month, effective November 1, 2026.
According to a notification issued by the Sindh Home Department, the restriction will remain in force for an additional month as part of measures aimed at maintaining law and order across the province.
The notification states that personnel employed by registered private security companies will be permitted to carry firearms while performing their official duties. However, this exemption does not allow them to openly display or brandish weapons in public.
Under the extended restrictions, displaying firearms while travelling in vehicles, brandishing weapons during patrols in open areas, and openly carrying or displaying firearms in public places will remain prohibited.
The Home Department has directed the relevant police authorities to ensure strict implementation of the orders.
Station House Officers (SHOs) concerned have been authorised to initiate legal proceedings under Section 144 against individuals found violating the restrictions.
The provincial government’s decision to extend the ban is aimed at maintaining public order, strengthening security and preventing the unnecessary display of firearms in public places across Sindh.
