LONDON: Boris Johnson, Britain’s former prime minister and one of the most divisive leaders of his generation has resigned as a member of Parliament.
According to details, the former British prime minister is accused of having a party in his official residence during the coronavirus outbreak. He has also been accused of misleading the Parliament during March.
The investigative committee of the British Parliament had recommended to the government that Boris Johnson be banned from entering the House for a period of more than 10 days, reacting to which Johnson resigned as a member.

In a statement after his resignation, Boris Johnson said the inquiry committee had failed to prove he had deliberately misled Parliament, and that from its inception the committee had aimed to convict Johnson.
Boris Johnson expressed doubts about the investigation process and said that there was a conspiracy to get him out of politics. “I am currently leaving Parliament and regret this move,” he asserted.
