KARACHI: The total volume of Sindh’s budget for 2023-24 has been set at Rs2100 billion, while the budget will be presented today and Saturday.
The budget of Sindh province will be presented in the Sindh Assembly today at 3 pm. According to the sources, the total size of the budget has been allocated Rs2100 billion, while Rs410 billion have been set for the development budget.
The salaries of government employees are likely to be increased by 35 to 40 percent, the development budget has earmarked more than Rs100 billion for foreign-aided projects for Karachi.
The development budget for the upcoming financial year 2023-24 is focused on the rehabilitation of infrastructure damaged during the 2022 rains and floods.
In the development budget, Rs291.727 billion have been allocated for 3,311 ongoing schemes in the province. Meanwhile, the Sindh government is going to present the budget for the new fiscal year 2023-24 today, Saturday, Murad Ali Shah called a meeting of the Sindh cabinet at 11 am on Saturday to approve the budget.

The Deputy Secretary Cabinet of the Department of Services General Administration and Ordination has released the schedule. It will be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah at 11 o’clock in the Chief Minister’s House, in which ministers, advisers, special assistants, and officers will participate.
A 3-point agenda will be considered in the meeting, in which the minutes of the previous Sindh Cabinet meeting will be approved. In the meeting, the budget for the new fiscal year 2023-24 will be approved, while the annual development program 2023-24 will also be approved.
The budget meeting of the Sindh Assembly will be held at 3 pm, in which Murad Ali Shah will present the budget for the new financial year.
