The next installment in the Jumanji franchise has officially been revealed, with Sony confirming the title “Jumanji: Open World” and debuting the first footage at CinemaCon.
Seven years after Jumanji: The Next Level, director Jake Kasdan returns with the third film in the rebooted series, following the success of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and its 2019 sequel.
The new chapter continues the story that reimagined the classic board game as a high-stakes video game adventure.

Stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan appeared on stage at CinemaCon to introduce the footage. Johnson dedicated the upcoming film to the late Robin Williams, who starred in the original 1995 Jumanji film.
The trailer shows the main cast navigating the real world while still acting as their in-game avatars. According to Alex Wolff’s character, they are “stuck in demo mode,” hinting at new glitches in the game-world crossover.
Directed once again by Kasdan and co-written with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, Jumanji: Open World is set for theatrical release on December 25.
