LAHORE: A fire broke out in a departmental store located in Garhi Shahu area of Lahore.
The blaze spread and engulfed the entire departmental store very quickly. Six fire brigade vehicles reached the spot after being informed and brought the fire under control after a hectic effort of three hours.
According to rescue sources, the fire was erupted due to short-circuit. No casualty was reported in the incident. However, valuables worth millions of rupees were reduced to ashes by the fire.
Separately, fire that erupted at an electronic factory was extinguished by the firefighters after a 14-hour long struggle.

A fire broke out at a local electronic plant on Multan Road, destroying machinery and raw materials worth millions of rupees. Due to the presence of incendiary/ignitable material on-site, the fire spread to other parts of the factory.
The fire was put brought under control by the Lahore firefighters and the process of cooling is currently underway.
Hearing the news of the fire Managing Director (MD) of the factory 60-year-old Sarfaraz, suffered a heart attack due to shock and lost his life.
