A case involving alleged fraud through artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged involving former Sindh Assembly member Ghulam Rasool Inar, who has approached the court seeking legal action.
According to details, Ghulam Rasool Inar began communicating with a woman through social media, and their interaction eventually developed into a relationship.
According to the petitioner and his lawyer, the woman also shared photographs of herself during their conversations. However, the photographs were allegedly AI-generated or digitally altered.
Ghulam Rasool Inar said that the woman did not clearly show her face during their social media interactions and communicated with him primarily through photographs. The two also reportedly got married via a video call on February 23 this year.
According to his lawyer, the woman was also wearing a veil during the marriage ceremony and did not clearly reveal her face. After the marriage, when she eventually showed her face, Ghulam Rasool Inar claimed that she looked different from the photographs that had previously been sent to him.
The former Sindh Assembly member has described the incident as alleged fraud and has approached the court seeking registration of a case against the woman and appropriate legal action.
The court has been requested to investigate the alleged fraud and take action against those responsible in accordance with the law.
The incident also highlights growing concerns over the use of fake and AI-generated images on social media to conceal identities and deceive people.
