Emraan Hashmi has completed shooting for the upcoming romantic-thriller “Awarapan 2”, co-starring Disha Patani, with the film scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, the sequel marks Emraan Hashmi’s return to one of his most popular on-screen characters, Shivam, originally portrayed in the 2007 film Awarapan directed by Mohit Suri.
According to a press statement, the film was shot across multiple locations, including Rajasthan and several scenic destinations in South East Asia.
The diverse backdrops are expected to add a strong visual layer to the narrative, which blends romance with high-stakes thriller elements.
Alongside Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani, the film also features veteran actress Shabana Azmi in a pivotal role, further strengthening the ensemble cast.
Production on the project had faced a brief delay after Emraan Hashmi sustained an injury while filming action sequences.
However, the schedule was later resumed, and the team has now successfully wrapped up the shoot.
