ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has announced that that the next general elections in Pakistan will be held in October 2023۔
Talking to media here on Wednesday, he made it clear that no elections were possible for next 6 to eight months, and the nation would be going to polls in October 2023. He advised the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan to give up the politics of agitation and sit-in, and prepare for the election.
Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan-China friendship was tied with a new bond in 2013, which was known as CPEC, while more than 5,000 MW energy projects had already been installed with the cooperation of China.
He said that when CPEC was launched in December 2013, hopes were high that it would see speedy work, however, when the President of China announced to visit Pakistan in 2014, Imran Khan failed the visit by his long march.
Ahsan Iqbal alleged that Imran Khan tried to fail the CPEC by making false allegations. He said now Chinese President was expected to visit Pakistan again in November, but Imran Khan was threatening to launch his long march again to make the JCC meeting fail.
He further alleged that during catastrophic flood, Imran Khan campaigned in such a negative way that no could extend help to help Pakistan.
