LAHORE: The head of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid has claimed that elections in provinces as well as in Center (National Assembly) will take place simultaneously, asking President Arif Alvi to either announce date of elections tomorrow (Monday) or step down.
Talking to media here on Sunday, Sheikh Rashid further claimed that the country’s politics would reach at a decisive stage by April this year.
The AML chief said he had come here in Lahore to meet PTI Chairman Imran Khan, and that he had left almost half of his baggage in Jail so that if asked by Khan, he would be the first to give ‘court arrest’.
Referring to Maryam Nawaz’s statement, Sheikh Rashid asked if her party was not ruling the country, then she should have some courage and tell as to whose government was there in Islamabad? He said Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had admitted that the country had gone bankrupt, claiming that even IMF wasn’t happy with present rulers despite the fact that they had introduced unpopular measures on world body’s demands.
He asked as to why Nawaz Sharif couldn’t return to Pakistan despite the fact that his party was ruling the country for last ten months.
Sheik Rashid said if something wrong happens to him, five people including Shehbaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, Bilawal and Rana Sanaullah would be held responsible.
