A Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has sent PTI leader Senator Ejaz Chaudhry to jail on 14-day judicial remand in a case pertaining to May 9 violence, while, ATC has dismissed the request of fashion designer Khadija Shah for medical attention and permission for her family to meet her.
As per detail, the PTI leader was presented in court after the expiry of his three-day physical remand. The investigation officer (IO) sought an extension in the PTI leader’s physical remand.
The IO told the court that Chaudhry had been arrested for attacking and vandalising Lahore’s Askari Tower and that a case was registered against him at the Gulberg police station.
He further said that the senator’s photogrammetric test was yet to be conducted. However, the ATC rejected the plea and sent the PTI leader to jail.
Khadija Shah’s pleas
An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has dismissed the request renowned fashion designer Khadija Shah for a medical examination and a meeting with her family, Express News reported.
Hearing Khadija Shah’s plea, filed by her lawyer Samir Khosa, Admin Judge Abher Gul Khan of the ATC Islamabad rejected and dismissed the fashion designer’s request for medical examination and meeting her family.
Shah’s counsel had appealed to the court to demand a medical report from jail authorities and permission for her family family to meet her in jail.
In the petition, her counsel had also stated that Khadija Shah’s family is very worried due to reports of her deteriorating health. Since she was arrested, her family has not been allowed to meet her, stated the petition.
