ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) today where a final decision on easing lockdown restrictions in the country will be made.
The meeting will be attended by all the four chief ministers and certain federal ministers via video conference. The meeting will also be attended by federal ministers, high ranking military officials, and chairman NDMA.
Chairman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Health Advisor will give a briefing on the current situation while Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)s will be approved before easing the lockdown.
The meeting will discuss opening business centers from Monday and educational institutions from 1st June. Moreover, proposals were made at the National Command Center meeting on easing lockdown while the final decision will be taken today.
Earlier on Wednesday, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) proposed multiple recommendations to ease lockdown restrictions in the country which were imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The participants of the meeting proposed to enhance shop timings from 9 am to 5 pm and then 8 pm to 10 pm. However, the Sindh government suggested to the Centre that shops be allowed to open till 5 pm and not till midnight.
