Drama serial Bakhtawar showcases real-life incident

Since its first episode which aired last Sunday, Yumna Zaidi starrer Bakhtawar has become the talk of the town.

The viewers liked the drama from its first teaser as it featured Zaidi in the leading role, however, now, the audience is amazed how the drama series has showcased a real-life incident in its second episode which aired last night.

Last night, with the scene where Bakhtawar gets a job as the bus hostess, the scene showed Parveen being killed by a man as she went off home after work. This incident happened in Faisalabad when Mahwish Arshad, a bus hostess was killed by Umar Daraz, a security guard working for the same company for refusing his marriage proposal.

The incident was a clear example of the patriarchal mindset prevailing in our society.  Social media users were overwhelmed after watching the episode and Parveen losing her life because of a petty man and his ego. Let’s have a look at how the netizens reacted:

The drama is a Momina Duraid production and Zaidi’s first look was shared on HUM TV’s Instagram official account. Written by Nadia Akhtar, the drama has been directed by Shahid Shafaat and produced by Momina Duraid. Besides Zaidi, the cast includes Zaviyar Nauman Ejaz, Saqib Sameer, Mizna Waqas, Naureen Gulbani, Sunil Shankar, and Huma Nawab, Adnan Shah (Tipu), and others.

The story of the drama is about the journey of a young girl who is headstrong as she is trying to escape her troubled home, difficulties, and pain and create a better tomorrow for herself. On the work front, Zaidi was last seen in Ishq-e-Laa and Sinf-e-Aahan. She is famous for her marvelous performance in Parizaad, Pyar Kay Sadqay, and Ishq Zahe Naseeb.
