KARACHI: As many as fifty shops were completely gutted as a result of huge blaze that engulfed a furniture market in Ghareebabad area late last night.
According to details gathered by MM News, the blaze spread and engulfed several other warehouses of the furniture market very quickly. Initially, three fire brigade vehicles and rescue teams were sent to the spot to douse the blaze but when they failed to do so, three more were sent, putting off the fire after hours of hectic efforts.

According to rescue sources, no loss of life has been reported as yet, and the cause of fire is not yet known. Rescue sources also informed that no casualty was reported in the incident. However, valuables worth millions of rupees were reduced to ashes by the fire.
Shopkeepers alleged that the fire brigade arrived at the spot very late, resulting in massive losses. They said there were some 70 shops in the market, out of which 45 completely gutted. One shopkeeper told media that two vehicles were also caught fire in the incident, while his two sons got injured.
Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, after taking notice of the incident, ordered authorities to submit report about cause and losses as a result of the massive blaze.
