ISLAMABAD: The country’s total development budget for the upcoming fiscal year has been proposed at Rs 4,264 billion, according to official budget documents.
Of this, Rs 1,126 billion is allocated for the federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), while the combined provincial development programmes stand at Rs 3,138 billion.
According to the documents, Punjab will lead all provinces with a development allocation of Rs 1,450 billion. Out of this, Rs 1,306 billion will be financed through local resources, while Rs 144 billion is expected from foreign assistance.
Sindh’s Annual Development Programme has been set at Rs 816 billion, including Rs 520 billion from domestic resources and Rs 296 billion from foreign aid.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s development outlay is proposed at Rs 564 billion, with Rs 377 billion from local resources and Rs 187 billion in foreign assistance.
For Balochistan, the development programme is estimated at Rs 308 billion, comprising Rs 275 billion from local sources and Rs 33 billion from external financing.
The documents further show that provincial development spending funded through local resources totals Rs 2,478 billion, while foreign assistance for provincial projects is projected at Rs 660 billion.
Officials said the proposed allocations aim to support infrastructure development and promote balanced regional growth across all provinces in the upcoming fiscal year.
