ISLAMABAD: In view of the second wave of Coronavirus, the management of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has issued new precautionary orders for its employees.
According to a notification issued by PIA, it has been decided to partially suspend biometric attendance for employees in view of the coronavirus. Biometric attendance will not be required in any PIA office across the country. All employees will automatically register their attendance in the register in the respective offices.
According to the notification issued, the employees applying for attendance will enter their attendance register. The concerned managers will send the attendance of all the staff to the HR department by e-mail.

The said attendance will be submitted before the 10th of every month. It may be recalled that two weeks ago, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had approved the retirement of 3500 employees of Pakistan International Airlines.
According to details, the new changes relating to in-flight meal services for domestic and international flights had been approved by PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik. The new SOPs relating to food service for domestic flights had included a ban on the provision of drinks through a trolley besides also restricting the provision of food and drinks during the flight.
